If you are seeking a complement to your current education with a good dose of Women’s Studies, then check out these eye-opening blogs. Some of these blogs invite active participation from leaders, while some focus on society and politics, and others offer a look at specific interests within Women’s Studies. Find blogs about feminism in art, blogs from academia, and blogs that express a strong passion to affect change resulting in equality for all.
Women’s Studies: An Open Discussion
These blogs all invite open discussion on the topics at hand–in a respectful manner, of course.
- Alas, a blog. This collaborative blog promotes discussion on topics that are mostly feminist and left-of-center.
- Small Strokes Fell Big Oaks. Join in the dialogue on this blog that focuses on human rights for everyone, with a special interest in feminism.
- Womanist Musings. The posts here are sure to spark discussion as Renee expresses her opinion on a variety of topics, including school segregation by gender, race issues, women in sports, and more.

These blogs cover the role, and often, the portrayal of women in society and politics. Some of these blogs tend more toward the political, while others focus more on the social aspect.

Passionate Feminists
These bloggers share their passion for feminism in their blogs. If you are offended by strong language or what may be difficult subject matter for some, then you may want to move carefully among these blogs.
- Finally, A Feminism 101 Blog. Learn the basics of what feminism is about, along with reading about topics such as gendered language and living in a rape culture.
- Daisy’s Dead Air. Feminism, politics, agism, and more are what Daisy writes about on this blog.
- Feministe. One of the oldest feminist blogs, this one features posts on a wide variety of topics affecting women.
- Echidne of the Snakes. The portrayal of women in the news and treatment of women around the world are but two of the broad topics covered in this blog.
- Fetch me my axe. Body size, a woman’s right to say "no," and health care have all made the cut on this blog.

- FWD/Forward. A blog written by and about feminists with disabilities, the posts here will open your eyes to many issues about which you may not have been aware.
- The Angry Black Woman. The Angry Black Woman (actually three women bloggers) is out to defeat the sexism and racism seen so often, including in health care.
- Criss Writes…. While Criss writes about many timely topics, she is especially involved in the the pro-choice movement and what it means for women.
- Feminists with Female Sexual Dysfunction. This blogger touches on current news topics surrounding feminism as well as providing information about physical female sexual problems.
- Body Impolitic. Laurie Toby Edison shares her insight about the Body Acceptance movement on her blog.
- The Brodsky Blog. Linda Brodsky blogs about women in medicine as a part of her goal to eliminate gender discrimination in medicine.
- My Private Casbah. Perhaps having a serious health issue has influenced what this blogger writes about, but her readers benefit as she posts mostly about health rights with gender and race equality also showing their faces.
